In Netacad take a look at slide 2.3.4.1 and 2.3.4.2. You will use
this information to create a patch (stright through) cable that can
be used in the lab:
-
Get 3 feet of CAT5 or CAT6 UTP cable and 2 RJ-45 connectors
From me or a person helping me. Separate the wires, put them
in the correct order and slide them into the connectors. Then
use the crimp tool to attach the connectors.
-
Choose a computer in the lab. Verify it has network access.
Once verified, swap the network cable with the one you
created. Does the computer still have network access?
-
Call me over to verify your working cable. Put the cable back
the way it was. Write your name on your cable.
