Create your own Subneting Worksheet
In this assignment the objective is to get you ready for one of the most significant parts of the Certification, Subnetting.

Subnet Calculator --
While you can get subnet calculators on line, you cannot use them during the certification exam, so it is best not to use them until you pass the exam. On the other hand if you create one yourself, it will stick in your brain, and that is exactly what we want.
Your Calculator --
Create a spreadsheet with the following criteria:
  • Has a section for IPv4 and IPv6
  • It Identifies the Octets in IPv4 and Primary Sections in IPv6
  • It shows the Binary for IPv4 and at least Hex for IPv6 (IPv6 Binary a Plus)
  • For IPv4 it breaks the last octet down into variable length segments
Subnet Segments in last Octet --
Each Subnet size Should include:
  • Network Address
  • First Useable Address
  • Last Useable Address
  • Broadcast Address
Once completed, email a copy of your Subnet Calculator file to me as an attachment to your email with 'CNIT 106 - Lab 6 ' as the subject.
