Text Book:
Required - Web 101 Making the 'Net Work For You
by Wendy Lehnert
ISBN 0-201-70474-9
Course Work and Homework:
The required textbook "Web 101 Making The 'Net Work For You" is a very well put together book covering a large number of Internet topics. We will not be able to cover the entire book in class. I have assigned homework assignments which represent a minimum amount of work to learn each topic. I encourage you to do more. I will answer your questions on any of the topics in the book not just the ones I have assigned. Your homework should be turned in on the meeting after it is assigned. Your reading assignment should be done prior to the class where it is listed. For example: on Week 2, you should have read through Sections 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.6, 2.7 and Appendix A before class. The homework, Lab 2 and Quiz 2 are assigned on Week 2 and are due on Week 3. Notice that all assignments except Lab 1 must be turned in via email, paper copies will not be accepted.
Grading Policy:
Your grade in this class is determined by your homework (42%), your quizzes (27%), the final exam (20%) and your participation in the class and in the lab (11%). The final exam will be open notes. You may use any notes that you have written. You may take this class for either a letter grade or credit/no credit. If you choose to take credit/no credit, you need a grade of C or better to get a credit.
