Create a Club Newsletter
In this lab we are going to use a table as part of a document. The table will not cover the entire document, you will be using a table as part of a document layout.
	The Newsletter: You will create a 4 page (2 page front and back) newsletter. It will be designed on a single sheet of paper that folds in the center to create a 2 page newsletter connected (folded) along the long edge. Research is not necessary for this assignment, I am really just grading on layout and your ability to use formatting tools. So you can make up the content for your newsletter. You can use a hobby as a guide or make up something that gives you lots of content. Your newsletter will have the following elements: Required Elements: Your document will have 2 columns on every page. Your document should have a title area where the title can be displayed in a large font. Your document will have between 2 and 4 pictures but they will not take up more than 20 percent of the newsletter. Your document will contain 2 tables. One table must have at least 4 columns and 4 rows and must fit inside one of the 2 columns on a page. The second table must have at least 2 columns and 4 rows and must span the full width of the page. The remainder of the document should contain text. It should be in sub sections with section titles or white space to separate each section. An Example: You do not have to follow this example, in fact you will get a higher score if you use your own idea, however, here is an example of a newsletter breakdown. Topic - The Bay Area Amateur Music Video Alliance Pictures: 1) You-Tube screen shot of this months video of the month; 2) A group picture of the new video artists of the month; 3) a picture of an area that is considered as overused in videos. Tables: 1) A 4-column 6-row half page width table that lists the 5 most prolific teams in the organization and the number of videos they have created in the past 3 months; 2) A page wide table 4 columns by 6 rows that lists the 5 newest video teams, their video title, what category it falls into and how long it runs for. Sub Sections: 1) Video of the month - A discussion about the team and the video, a little about the content and some behind the scenes information; 2) New technology - A piece on a new tool available for making videos; 3) Been there done that - a section that talks about locations and settings that are so overused that they detract from the video. includes a discussion on why they are used; 4) The new talent - list all the new people who have joined or who have submitted their first video; 5) Going Pro - A piece about amateur teams who have made it to the professional world.
If I Google your assignment and find it on the internet in all or in part you will get a zero on the assignment. I may also require you to insert a specific element of content in a specific location to verify you are the author of your work.
