Create a filing system for your work
In this lab you are going to take all the work you have done so far and create a filing system that will allow you to find the work you have done.
  • Your Filing System Criteria: You will need a flash drive or some sort of portable media with several gigs of space to do this assignment.
I will be a bit less formal on the top level(s) of your filing structure just in case you are already filing your documents in an appropriate manner. However, everything you turn in is subject to being in a structured filing system.
  • There will be no files in the root folder unless you can justify their presence there. (and that will not be easy).
  • Create a location for all the labs you have done so far based on their content. For example you already have a resume which should be filed with your job hunting documents. You have a club newsletter which should be with other documents for that club, (do you belong to multiple organizations, should they have their own folder too ??)

In addition add a filing place for:
    • Work product you create for your job.
    • Personal Documents - Not work related
    • School Documents - If you already have this, and it looks organized, you do not need to re-do it
    • Documents you do for your friends and family, this might be a sub folder of another folder
  • Using Sub Folders:
    • You need to be at least 4 levels deep in sub folders to complete this assignment.
    • Here is an Example:
      • Level one might be Recreation Activities
      • Level two might be Clubs and Organizations
      • Level Three might be Running Club (By name)
      • Level Four might be Running Club Documents, (where I keep the newsletter for the running club).
If I Google your assignment and find it on the internet in all or in part you will get a zero on the assignment. I may also require you to insert a specific element of content in a specific location to verify you are the author of your work.
