Assignment 6 -- Creating An ERD
Up until this point, we have been using your hobby database to get a feeling of how databases work. Now I want you to build your business database incorporating what you have learned
Create your initial design in the form of an ERD. You are going to turn in an ERD for this exercise. It should include the following:
  • All of your tables
  • Identify all keys
  • Identify field types of your data
  • Identify all relationships
  • Identify NOT NULL fields

Your database should be able to handle:
  • Customers
  • Vendors
  • Employees
  • Purchase Transactions
  • Sales Transactions
  • Inventory or JIT system

Hybrid Class Assignment -- None -- But Can Earn Extra Credit
There really is no required part 2 for this lab since part 1 should take you several hours to complete -- if you did it in less than an hour, trust me, it is incomplete.

However, a good idea (and this is worth extra credit) is to load some sample data into the model to see if it works the way you want it to.

Assignment Submission Criteria
To turn in this assignment you will go to the NSC Canvas shell for this class and submit the following as attachments:
  1. Your ERD in the form of an .mwb
  2. Screenshots of your output of your working model

EXTRA CREDIT SUBMISSION

If you did the Extra Credit, there is a section listed in Modules to submit all Extra Credit. No matter how many you do, submit all Extra Credit there (please DO NOT submit your Extra Credit with your assignments and please DO NOT submit your assignments into the Extra Credit submission area. Points will be taken off for not submitting your stuff to the right place)
