The location of the MySQL data files my vary based on the version of Linux or Unix you are running
On Ubuntu they can be found at:
var / lib / mysql
You need root privileges to access them
On Windows they are located at the position stated below, but who cares!! 90% of all production databases are on Linux or Unix
