Assignment One (Welcome to EET 132)
What do you remember from the first class ? At this point you should feel comfortable about building a basic personal computer.
  • Watch this video and pay attention to what is being done. You can watch it as many times as you need in order to complete the next step.
  • Use a Word Processor (Open Office Write, Libre Office Write or Microsoft Word) and create a document that explains what is happening in the video. The idea here is to dazzle me with how much you know, so be as specific as possible. Imagine you are doing the audio for this video and you are writing the script. Don't just say "a cable is being connected". What kind of cable is it? What type of connector is it using?
Start Getting Ready For Future Labs In This Class
  • In order to really get a feel for what you are doing, you will need a computer system you are not afraid to break. This cannot be the same system you do your homework assignments for other classes on.
  • As shown in the picture it is not difficult to find very inexpensive $30-$50 computers for sale on eBay. You should know what to order at this point.
  • Find a cheap computer and get it to your home. You will need this for our future assignments in this class.
  • If you are not sure what to get, contact me on my Zoom line (see my schedule) so we can talk about it.

Assignment Submission Criteria

While your assignment will not be evaluated as stringently as it would if this were an English class, it is expected that you will make an effort to use capitalization, sentence structure and punctuation appropriately.
To turn in this assignment you will go to the Netacad Canvas shell for this class. Each assignment you need to turn in will have a submission link that will allow you to turn in that assignment.
