Assignment Three - Install Linux Ubuntu 18
In this class we are going to be doing several installations of Operating Systems (OS's). This is the first in the series and the one that could be the most important. In this lab you will do a clean install of Ubuntu on your lab computer. I would prefer that you do version 18, but if you are using a lab computer that is more than 8 years old, you may have to install version 16 or 14.
While I would prefer that you look up the "How-To's" online (because you will need to adapt to new OS's in the future as they change), I have provided the basic steps below:
  1. Create a bootable flash drive using Rufus
  2. Examine your lab computer's BIOS to make sure the USB ports are first in the boot sequence. (Note: you may also have to look at UEFI settings)
  3. Insert your bootable flash drive and reboot your machine. WATCH THE SCREEN !! You may have to strike a key during the boot sequence for the USB to be used
  4. Once the purple GRUB screen appears, answer the questions provided. Use defaults in cases where you are not sure or even better, look the options up online so you know what you are selecting
  5. Use your name in the setup of your computer ! Make the computer name your initials and make the main user your name. You need this for verification of completion
Once you have completed this assignment, find the screen that shows the computer name and a screen that shows the name of the users. Take a screen shot of both screens

Assignment Submission Criteria

While your assignment will not be evaluated as stringently as it would if this were an English class, it is expected that you will make an effort to use capitalization, sentence structure and punctuation appropriately.
To turn in this assignment you will go to the Netacad Canvas shell for this class. Each assignment you need to turn in will have a submission link that will allow you to turn in that assignment
