Assignment 10 -- Configure Like a Server
In this lab you will pretend your client is a server and configure your machine to get ready to provide a web service. There are 2 required parts to this and one extra credit part.
Install the Lamp Stack on your machine and configure the firewall for basic web services. Consult the lecture for the components of the stack and the services you need running (or Google it).
  • Update your Package Repository
  • Install Apache
  • Install MySQL
  • Install PhP
  • Activate your Firewall
  • Set / verify firewall rights ready for web services
  • Extra Credit: In the lecture I discussed several options for optimizing your machine. Perform one and provide proof via screenshot. (Note: this may require a before and after screenshot depending on the option you choose)

Assignment Submission Criteria
To turn in this assignment you will go to the NSC Canvas shell for this class. Submit your screenshots (if you have multiple screenshots, make sure they are all on one document) of the CLI commands we discussed that prove you have completed the assignment using the submission button on the assignment page.
