Assignment 9 -- Add a Partition to Your System
For this lab I want you to add a partition to your system following the steps outlined below. I will allow variations in the approach as long as you can produce the end result.
  1. Determine the number of drives and partitions there are on your system. Redirect this output to a file to be turned in.
  2. If you have unallocated space on a drive you can use it, but you most likely will need to make room by shrinking an existing volume. So shrink a volume to make room for your new partition. Repeat the first step and redirect append the results into the same file.
  3. Add a new partition to your machine using the space you have just cleared in the previous step.
  4. Format your new partition.
  5. Repeat step one and redirect append the results into the same file.

To turn in this assignment you will go to the NSC Canvas shell for this class. Submit your output file that you built in steps 1, 2, and 5.
