File Systems

• The Linux Native file system is the “ext” system
• ext – Means “Extended” File System
• There are currently 3 versions in use: ext2, ext3, ext4
• The Mac OS X Native file system is APFS
• APFS – Apple File System
• HFS – (Apples old file system) stands for Hierarchical File System
• The Windows 10 Native file System is NTFS
• NTFS – stands for New Technology File System (even though it was developed in 1993)

• Can I have a system that all of them can use?
