The Swap partition was malfunctioning

The Swap partition was deleted, recreated and reformatted

After the reformat the new partition was given a new UUID

At this point the Swap partition was not functioning because the UUID did not match it’s record in file “fstab”, which resides in /etc

In this sequence the UUID had to be fixed to bring the partition back online

UUID – Universal Unique Identifier: A method used by the Operating System to Identify a Device (Physical or Virtual) that the Operating System has access to
