Link State

Distance Vector

RIP – Routing Information Protocol

EIGRP – Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol

OSPF – Open Shortest Path First

IS-IS – Intermediate System to Intermediate System

Each of these 4 protocols has it's own operating rules and it's own Algorithms for best Path

EIGRP – Is Cisco Proprietary and is considered an Advanced Distance Vector Protocol
