WIFI Transmission Methods

We have already covered the frequencies for the different WIFI channels, however these are really center frequencies for a range on narrow band frequencies. This transmission method is called Spread Spectrum

There are 3 Variants of Spread Spectrum Technology:

DSSS - Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum

FHSS - Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum

OFDM - Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing

Spread-spectrum techniques are methods by which a signal generated with a particular bandwidth is deliberately spread in the frequency domain, resulting in a signal with a wider bandwidth
