Change the Switch Default Operating System

• The BOOT Environment Variable (BEV) is used to select an OS file
• If BEV is not set, the first executable file found is executed
• The Switch uses the startup-config file to initialize interfaces
• The startup-config file is called config.text and is located in flash
• The boot system command is used to change the BEV
• The show boot command shows the current IOS boot file setting
