Legacy Inter-VLAN Routing (Kicking it Old School)

• While this method of inter-VLAN routing is no longer preferred, it does have one advantage: If the people maintaining the network have limited experience it provides a more simplistic model for them to work with

Each VLAN gets it’s own Router Interface which serves as the default gateway to the local hosts on the VLAN (which is a virtual subnet)

It is not scalable because routers have a limited number of physical interfaces
