EtherChannel Implementation Restrictions

Interface types (Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet) cannot be mixed in the same EtherChannel

On Newer Cisco Switches each EtherChannel can consist of up to eight Ethernet ports

VLAN Trunking must be configured the same on both sides of the EtherChannel

All ports in each EtherChannel link must be configured as Layer 2 ports

A configuration applied to the port channel interface affects all physical interfaces that are assigned to that interface
