Which Methodology To Use
In this assignment you will research the two primary methodologies on the planet being used to steer Project Management efforts- PMI's PMBOK and AXELOS's PRINCE2.
  • Perform your own research on both of these methodologies, do not just base your work on what I have told you. Ideally you should find a few sources that are evaluating or contrasting the 2 approaches.
  • Create a one page elevator summary, someting you could use if you were asked your opinion on this subject in a interview for a job. It should not exceed 1 page (more is not better - refine your work). It should have 4 sections (I would do it in 2 columns but that is up to you): PMBOK Pros, PMBOK Cons, PRINCE2 Pros and PRINCE2 Cons. What you cover is up to you but to stimulate some ideas you might include:
    1. Effect on project size
    2. Learning curve
    3. Geographical acceptance

Based on what you did in part 1 above, I want to you decide on which approach is better in your opinion.
I DO NOT WANT A "THEY ARE EQUAL" TYPE OF ANSWER!
Use your research to formulate an opinion of the one you would implement if tasked to do so. You should support your position with reasons that are backed by your research.
  • Choosing The Best Approach to Project Management: Your position on which is the best approach should be constructed as materials that could be used in a debate. So In addition to making your arguments for an approach, speculate on what the opposing side might counter with and be prepared to respond. In addition to the topics from part 1, you might consider:
    • Team acceptance
    • Management, team and stakeholder buy-in
    • Variety of certifications
    • Certification maintenance and continued training

  • Proof of Completion: I again would like to see 2 deliverables with the subject AD 400 - Lab 10 to prove you have completed this:
    1. For part 1 -- I would like to see your 1 page elevator Pros and Cons pitch.
    2. For part 2 -- I need written proof that you did it, but I am leaving it up to you to decide the format. Remember, it should be usable in a debate scenario.
Assignment Submission Criteria
While your assignment will not be evaluated as stringently as it would if this were an English class, it is expected that you will make an effort to use capitalization, sentence structure and punctuation appropriately.
To turn in this assignment you will go to the NSC Canvas shell for this class. Submit your assignment 10 Proof of Completion requirements. These should be submitted as separate documents. These need to be in a format that everyone can read. Do not submit your assignments any other way.
