In this assignment you will use the event you outlined in assignment one and create a Project Plan for how that event would be executed

If your first thought is "I have no idea what would go into the event", then you are right in the perfect starting position -- since this will likely be the starting position you will be in for your first project.

• WBS - To complete this plan you will need a WBS. Use either a planning tool or graphics tool to create it
• Tasks (no less than 50) - You will need to identify the various tasks required to complete your event -- you will need a list of tasks that can be assigned to your workers
• Durations - You will need to know how long each task will take in order for that task to be completed
• Dependencies - You will need to know what tasks are dependent on other tasks and enter them into the plan appropriately
• Critical Path - If you have entered everything into the plan correctly you should have a single critical path through your plan

Hybrid Class Assignment - Using Project Management Software

The assignment above is a significant undertaking if you do it correctly. So the hybrid class assignment for this week is done in conjunction with the weekly lab assignment

• Get The Software -- Gain access to some Project Management software. I am being vague on this to allow you to use the software you have at work if that fits your situation. The school may have software you can use as well, but you can always find and download one of the Open Source Applications I mentioned in class. As long as we can get to a critical Path it should work
• Enter Your Data -- Place all of your information from the assignment above into your Project Management software. If you have chosen wisely this will be the only place you need to put the data since it can make everything from a WBS to a Critical Path report
• Proof of Completion -- 2 Items:
1. I want your project file for your Project Planning software (.pod) so I can download and run your plan
2. I need verification you are aware of your critical path, so I want a deliverable (as defined in the PMBOK) that identifies your Critical Path
