Assignment 8 -- Create Contracts For Your Business
In this assignment you will use the event you outlined in assignment 1, created a time-based plan for in assignment 4 and resource loaded in assignment 6. This time you will create contracts for the people hired to support the event.
  • Locate examples of free contracts for Independent Contractors online (I just checked they are easy to find)
  • Select at least 3 service or material providers for your event and create contracts for them. Fill them out with fake business names and give them a fake signature (fully simulate executing them)
  • You do not have to print them -- you can do this online but, if you have to print them, scan them back in so they can be turned in electronically (many contracts today are done 100% electronically)

Hybrid Class Assignment - Turn The Situation Around
Now let's look at this from a different angle. Let's say your event was so successful that you have been approached to produce similar events for other organizations. Now you are the General Contractor. Complete the following tasks for this scenario:
  • Research the legal framework for your business venture and then research the following and provide between 50 to 300 words on how you will handle each item...

    • What kind of contract will you use for these gigs ?
    • What kind of pay structure will you set up ? (Getting paid and paying staff)
    • Will you have employees or contractors ?
    • How will you deal with compliance with the law ? (Do you know what laws you need to comply with)
    • How will you address Quality of Service ?

  • Proof of Completion:

    • I again would like to see 2 deliverables to prove you have completed this:
    1. Send me the contracts for the first part as attachments (there should be at least 3 of them). It is worth extra credit if you complete them for all of your support people.
    2. A single document that is at least 250 words long but not more than 1500 words long. Divide it into the sections shown above with your response to each section.
Assignment Submission Criteria
While your assignment will not be evaluated as stringently as it would if this were an English class, it is expected that you will make an effort to use capitalization, sentence structure and punctuation appropriately.
To turn in this assignment you will go to the NSC Canvas shell for this class. Submit assignment 8. These should be submitted as separate documents. These need to be in a format that everyone can read. Do not submit your assignments any other way.
