This class is designed to teach someone with no computer experience the basics of how to use the computer and the Windows Operating system. This class will give students the introductory experience needed for more advanced CIS classes.

Required Materials
1. Floppy disks, 3 - DS/HD, 3.5" or 1 Zip Disk
2. CIS 101A -- PC's For New Users
Grading Policy:
1. The computer lab assignments make up 70% of the course grade.
2. The weekly 10 question quiz’s make up 10% of the course grade.
3. You get to drop the 1 lowest Quiz score.
4. All labs are due 1 week after they are assigned.
5. Reading assignments should be completed before the class they are listed on.
Lab:
The lab is open M-F 9am-5pm and M-TH 5pm-10pm. The lab is also open on Saturday. A lab assistant is on duty during open lab hours. you may work on your lab assignments during any of the lab open hours. Each of you will receive a printed list of the hours that I will be available to assist you in the lab. If you have your own IBM PC or compatible and software, labs can be done at home.
**NOTE** Students are required to be in the 2 hour scheduled lab that goes with the lecture (in other words - this is a 4 hour class). During this two hour period our class has reserved use of a romm in the lab.
