Using Basic Applications - Create a Party Invitation Using WordPad & Paint
You are planning to have a party sometime in the next few months. You want to invite all your friends but you want to make a good impression so you are going to design your own invitation on the computer. In order to do this you are going to use 2 computer applications:
| WordPad | To create and manipulate text |
| Paint | To create and manipulate pictures |
If you are actually planning an event, use that event to create your project. Your invitation will include at least the following items:
| 1. | The name of the Event | (example: Sarah's Graduation Party) |
| 2. | The Date and Time of the Event | (example: Tuesday, May 28th, 2002 - 4:00pm) |
| 3. | A way to get more Information | (example: Call 555-1234 for more information) |
| 4. | List any special activities | (example: Bring your swim suit the pool & hot tub will both be available) |
| 5. | List what will be available to eat | (example: sandwiches and soda’s will be provided) |
| 6. | A minimum of 3 graphics from the Lab 4 folder |
Note: This lab will require you to “Copy” elements from one application and “Paste” them into another application. So once you have the image you want in Paint you will need to copy it to the clipboard and paste it into WordPad. There are instructions in your book on using both of these applications and your book will step you through a similar project. If you are having trouble, do the step by step project in the book first. Then once you get the hang of it, complete this project.
You can be creative and add additional elements, you can also modify the graphics, in fact in order to get full credit you need to make at least one modification to one of the graphics.
When you have completed this project you will turn in 2 items:
| 1) | A printed version of the Invitation - | (If you are in the lab print in black & white) |
| 2) | Your disk with the completed files on it including: |
| a) | The Invitation | |
| b) | A copy of any graphics that you used |
Label your disk as shown:

And turn your disk in to me to be graded.
