Not Setting Your Default BID Priority – Rely on Default?

Default Configuration results in a subPriority of 32769 (32768 + 1 from VLAN 1)

Resulting in the random priority setting of the Switch with the lowest MAC address

The administrator should configure the desired root bridge switch with a lower priority

In the example S1 is the best choice for root bridge, however if left to defaults (S1 priority of 32769) S2 would become the root bridge because of the lowest MAC Address
